Biography
My name is Beata Aleksandrowicz. I grew up in Poland during the communist years. Not a good time to remember. Life was tough especially when I lost my mother when I was 13. I went on to study drama at the renowned Academy of Drama Art in Krakow. Not easy to get in. I played in Shakespeare, Genet , Pinter, Moliere … and started singing jazz with my band in the famous cellar cafes in Krakow.
Then I moved to England and had to give up all this.
I became [and still am] a massage therapist.
Having written a regular column in the Sunday Telegraph, 2 books about massage and a third one in the making, being a consultant, co-owner of Pure Massage and fundraiser for a charity didn’t seem to be enough for me.
My singing was still aching my soul.
Therefore I sing.
I guess it’s in my blood.
